Idaho, north central, Sunrise over the Magruder area between the Frank Church and the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness areas. When I made this image almost 30 years ago, I didn't know I was capturing the end of an era. I recall lugging bulky equipment used for exposing 4x5 film up to this ridge in the Margruder Corridor of north central Idaho – a remote area between the Frank Church and Selway Bitterroot Wilderness areas. Similar to what is happening in much of the western U.S., fire and insect infestations have changed this view considerably. So I guess in a small way, this is historical documentation.
