Montana, east, Yellowstone River.

Flowing cross the entirety of east Montana until it joins the Missouri River in North Dakota, the Yellowstone River flows free as it has for centuries without a single dam. It's said the free flowing status is unique in the lower 48 states. It's certainly the largest but I've heard of smaller rivers in other states that have been assigned the free flowing distinction. Regardless, it's an extremely impressive river and the hundreds of miles of high plains eco systems along its banks are equally grand.
